Thirteen professionals design a museum. Higher education project of international mobility for the professional empowerment of cultural designer. 2018
The needs of a museum are constantly changing. A cultural planner must understand the context, do research and experience in other countries, and come up with a project dossier that responds to concrete needs and represents his or her vision for the future of culture.
For the Abegg Silk Museum an international mobility call enabled fourteen professionals from different disciplines to be posted around Europe (Sweden, Germany, France, Spain). They were given the opportunity to visit museums, meet cultural professionals and attend courses and seminars. A dedicated course was held at the Thyssen Museum in Madrid.
The professionals were then assisted in drawing up projects for the Museum by Sarah Dominique Orlandi (Higher Education Tutor). This allowed us to create an extensive strategic dossier of actions for the Museum over the long term. The project Voci dalla Filanda is a project born out of this strategic planning work. It was financed by the Lombardy Region, with the Liberi Sogni Cooperative as lead partner.
